Clear, youthful skincare is desired by virtually every woman (no matter how young or old), but why is it so hard to maintain? With all of the trends in skincare, it can be difficult to navigate which ingredients, tools, face masks, and treatments really work and which ones are all hype (or maybe even bad for your skin).
If you’re looking to achieve a clear, healthy-looking complexion, your skincare routine could likely use an update. Here are a few of the top acne-fighting ingredients and tools that I’ve found can actually help work wonders for your skin:
CBD (Cannabidiol)
Unless you live under a rock, you’ve likely heard of CBD oil and it’s no surprise because it’s making its way into nearly every type of health and beauty product nowadays. This is because of its many touted health benefits. In fact, recent studies have shown that CBD’s anti-inflammatory qualities make it a promising treatment for acne and other skin conditions. If you’ve found that nothing else works, consider trying a CBD skin care line that can help you stop acne in its tracks.

Face Rollers
You’ve probably seen an influencer or two using a face roller, whether it be jade, quartz, amethyst, and wondered, do they really do anything for your skin or is all just a facade? These face rollers can help reduce puffiness, wrinkles, dark circles, and more because they stimulate lymph drainage and collagen production. Lymph drainage helps remove waste and toxins from your body. And as you know, collagen production is essential to keeping our skin looking young and healthy.
To properly use your jade roller, you want to use it on a clean face two to three times per week. To see the biggest benefit, you should roll it across the cheeks and jaw, forehead, under eyes, brows, and crows feet. Apply the roller several times across each area.
Polyhydroxy Acids
Polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) are a gentler exfoliant that’s gaining popularity. If you suffer from skin spots or a dull, uneven skin texture, this ingredient could be the secret to achieving that beautiful glow you’ve been waiting to see in the mirror. And, for those with sensitive skin, the fact that PHAs are less prone to irritation when compared to other exfoliants is a big plus.
When you’re looking for new skincare products, look for PHAs listed as gluconolactone, galactose, or lactobionic acid on the ingredient label.
Facial Cleansing Brushes
You’ve probably seen all kinds of facial cleansing brushes in the store and online but it might seem like an unnecessary investment if you think you’ve got your face-washing routine down. However, facial cleaning brushes actually offer quite a few benefits that can help clear your complexion including exfoliating and gently but efficiently clearing away debris. Aloe Vera
If you suffer from dry skin, aloe vera is a skincare ingredient you want to make sure is in your products. As you know, aloe vera is commonly used to help with sunburn and that’s exactly why it’s a good treatment for dry or irritated skin. It’s calming qualities help soothe irritation while also hydrating your skin. Using skincare products with this ingredient, or simply applying over-the-counter aloe vera to your face on a regular basis can help you achieve softer, smoother skin.
If your dry skin persists, you should also consider switching to a hydrating primer and foundation that can help with the problem instead of contributing to it like many makeup products do.

Bakuchiol
Retinol has long been a favored skincare ingredient due to its anti-aging benefits but it can be harsh on certain skin types. Fortunately, bakuchiol is the hot, new, vegan alternative that you can use to strengthen and improve the appearance of your skin. Bakuchiol has been used in other types of medicine for a long time and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that are sure to help your feel and look its best.
Hopefully introducing one or all of these acne-fighting solutions will help you on your journey to clear, beautiful skin. If you’ve tried one of these ingredients or tools, let me know how they worked for you!
Much Love, Eltoria x
