Over the last couple of weeks I have been talking about how cherries can really help to improve your health and well being. Firstly, in my ‘Are Cherries The New Superfood’ post, we learned that cherries can help with migraines, blood pressure, and fighting against diseases like cancer. And secondly, in my ‘A Fitness Supplement That Everyone Needs’ post, we identified that cherries can really help to enhance fitness performance and recovery. So with seasonal berries, like cherries, being the new craze, how can you add cherries into your diet? Well that’s easy, why not start with a nutritious smoothie?
Ingredients
- 1 cup of cherries
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups of baby spinach
- 1/2 cup of water
- Ice cubes (optional)
Method
- Remove the pips from the cherries and chop up the banana.
- Put the chopped banana and pitted cherries into a blender with 1/2 cup of water. Add in a few ice cubes for more of a slushy texture.
- Blend well, serve in a glass.
